Recently you may also have seen that Martin Perry and his team took Oscar Garcia and his coaching team on a tour of the development.
It is due to be completed next summer ready for the team to begin using it for the 2014/15 season.
The state-of-the-art facility will house our first-team squad, under-21s, under-18s and our academy teams – which the board and I see as a crucial part of this club’s long-term future.
Our aim for the Albion is to bring through the best talent in Sussex and from further afield – and provide them with a first-rate facility, top coaching and a pathway to progress to our first-team.
The training ground has been designed very much with this ethos of progression toward the first team and professional football in mind.
Last year after the club achieved academy status, as part of our internal communications to staff, parents and other interested parties we introduced Academy Plus – our own in-house newsletter for the academy.
This is also something I hope will be of interest to you and our other supporters. It gives an insight into the what is going on at your club’s academy, to the coaches working to bring through
the next pool of talent, and those young players aspiring to represent the Albion at the Amex in the future.
Click the links below to view the first two issues of Academy Plus, and look out for future issues later in the season.
Kind Regards
Tony Bloom, Chairman
